Fall Tuition Remission Deadline is Approaching
Attention all HUH Caregivers, the deadline to submit your HUH Tuition Remission forms for the Fall 2024 Semester is Friday, August 09th. All forms must be sent to Felicia Carswell or Patricia Bracey-Alston in the Human Resources’ Benefits Office (Room #2042) prior to the deadline.

As a key member of the Materials Management Department, Vivian serves as a crucial link between supply services and nursing units. During recent IV supply chain disruptions—including delays caused by a hurricane—she took swift, proactive steps to manage inventory and ensure uninterrupted patient care. She also provided exceptional support during her supervisor’s leadership transition, going above and beyond her regular duties to train and guide others. Known for her punctuality, kindness, and selfless work ethic—often working through breaks—Vivian exemplifies excellence and accountability. Her contributions are deeply valued across departments and make her a true asset to the HUH community.
Dr. Tiffany Benjamin
Resident of the Month
Howard University Hospital proudly recognizes Dr. Tiffany Benjamin as Resident of the Month for her outstanding leadership, compassion, and commitment to excellence in patient care. A PGY4 Chief Resident in Psychiatry, Dr. Benjamin was recently accepted into the prestigious Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship at Stanford University and has presented at two national conferences. Known for her selflessness, professionalism, and support of fellow residents, she consistently volunteers without hesitation and fosters a collaborative environment. She leads educational programming, is highly respected by nursing staff, and exemplifies HUH’s core values of Service, Excellence, and Integrity. Dr. Benjamin’s impact on the residency program and patient care is profound, and her passion for psychiatry and dedication to the HUH community continue to inspire all who work with her.
Alicia Lyons
Leader of the Quarter
The HUH Human Resources Department proudly recognizes Alicia Lyons as Leader of the Quarter for her exceptional leadership during the hospital’s investigation into a Candida lipolytica pseudo-outbreak. As Manager of the Microbiology Lab, Alicia demonstrated initiative, precision, and system-level thinking—launching an independent review, identifying key concerns, and collaborating with external partners like Quest and Cardinal. Her calm, solutions-driven approach made her a trusted leader across departments. Alicia listens, leads by example, and takes action without hesitation. Her work significantly impacted patient safety, quality assurance, and team collaboration. She exemplifies HUH’s core values of Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence, consistently modeling thoughtful, compassionate leadership that uplifts our organization and strengthens our culture of integrity and service.
